Community partnerships are at the heart of what makes Martinez such a special place to live, work, and raise a family. This May, members of the Martinez Rotary Club joined volunteers from the Las Juntas Elementary PTA to support one of the school's most anticipated annual traditions: the Las Juntas Carnival.
Among the Rotarians volunteering at the event were Martinez Rotary Co-President Peggy Huston and Martinez Councilmember and Rotarian Jay Howard. They are pictured alongside Betsy Cruser, Las Juntas PTA Board Member, and Jenny Celestre, Las Juntas PTA Board President, celebrating another successful community event.
The Las Juntas Carnival has long been a cherished tradition for students, families, and community members. Each year, the event brings together hundreds of attendees for an evening of games, activities, food, and fun, while raising important funds that directly benefit Las Juntas Elementary School. Proceeds from the carnival help support student programs, educational opportunities, classroom resources, and community-building activities throughout the school year.
For Martinez Rotary, volunteering at events like the Las Juntas Carnival reflects the club's ongoing commitment to Service Above Self. By partnering with local schools, nonprofits, and community organizations, Rotarians help strengthen the connections that make Martinez a vibrant and supportive community.
The collaboration between Martinez Rotary and the Las Juntas PTA is a great example of what can be accomplished when community leaders, volunteers, educators, and families work together toward a common goal. Through shared service and support, both organizations continue to invest in the success of local students and the future of Martinez.
Martinez Rotary extends its gratitude to the Las Juntas PTA, school staff, volunteers, sponsors, and families who helped make this year's carnival a success. We look forward to continuing this tradition of partnership and community service for years to come.
